Dual Studies at GUTSCHE – A Report from China

With global sales and production sites in Germany and China, GUTSCHE offers its students the oppotunity to integrate a stay abroad during their three-year study as part of their dual study programme for Bachelor of Arts (dual college) in the study programme Economics (specializing in industry).

For six weeks, the dual study student Laura Weinbörner did not say “Guten Morgen,” but “Zao shang hao.” when she came to GUTSCHE China in the morning. As a part of her practice phase, she exchanged the usual working environment in Fulda with the one at the GUTSCHE plant in China Yixing.

During the assignment abroad, Laura Weinbörner went through the commercial departments of GUTSCHE in China and received insights into the company processes nd procedures. Coordinated by the headquarter in Fulda, she could furthermore contribute to the selected projects.

“The Chinese and German colleagues on site were very friendly and I felt welcomed into the team immediately,” says the student. Even after work, colleagues shared forrd or organized bar visits. As a “hightlight of the China visit”, Laura Weinbörner mentioned her four-day visit to Beijing with her Chinese colleague Candy.

After six weeks, the dedicated student felt consistently positive about her China experience: “In China, I have not only collected important experience for my job at GUTSCHE, but also for me personally. Being able to experience such a mission abroad already during study is something very special.“
