In order to generate electricity from municipal waste or RDF, modern Energy from Waste plants with optimised flue gas cleaning systems are used. The aim of flue gas cleaning is to chemically neutralise the harmful gases, reduce pollutants such as dioxins, furans and heavy metals and to remove the particulate in the gas with an efficiency of greater than 99.99%. Highly efficient bag filters are used to effectively remove the dust particles and reacted product.

METALLURGY

The steel and non-ferrous metal industry is a very important industrial sector which puts a great attention to the dedusting of their processes. Bag filters are successfully applied in primary steel production at the dedusting of sintering belts, blast furnaces, electric arc furnaces as well as basic oxygen converters. With secondary steel production the bag filters are being applied in the dedusting of electric arc furnaces, cupola furnaces, rotary furnaces and other supporting processes.

In the food and pharmaceutical industries, there are specific controls in place during the grinding, granulation and packaging processes which place special demands on the filter media. These are specified in the EC Ordinance 1935/2004 and EU Ordinance 10/2011.
